PISCO:

The view from the summit of Pisco is spectacular because of its central position between many of the highest peaks in the Cordillera Blanca.  Pisco provides a relatively easy introduction to high altitude mountaineering and an opportunity to acclimatize before attempting other mountains in the range.  The first day you can easily reach the base camp at 4665 meters in one day from Huaraz.  The second day you need approximately 4 - 6 hours to cross the moraine, climb the glacier to the pass and traverse the ridge to the summit.
