Lake Rajucolta

  This is an exceptional hike because of the way Nevado Huantsan (second highest in the Cordillera Blanca) dominates the view so you hardly notice the waterfalls and cliffs en route. From Huaraz take a taxi, through the village of Macashca and up to the gate. After the gate continue to the base of the canyon wall, where you fallow the paths along the streams and up to the lake. Laguna Rajucolta lies at 4250 m, a perfect glacial lake backed by the majestic Nevado Huantsan, it is about 7 km from the gate (portada) (2-3 hours)
